It often features a subtle pearlescent shimmer and showcases oversized, aggressive character graphics. For a throwing putter, Big Z is an elite choice because it offers the rigid confidence needed for full-power throws while maintaining enough flexibility to absorb ground impacts cleanly on the green.

<>

How the Roach Fits in the Discraft Lineup

Vs the Discraft Jawbreaker Roach: The Jawbreaker version is molded in a baseline blend that is softer, wears in much faster, and is primarily preferred for dedicated inside-the-circle putting. This Big Z Roach is significantly more durable, stiffer, and functions as a dedicated premium driving and approach putter that maintains its flight traits for seasons.

Vs the Discraft Luna Collection: Co-designed by Paul McBeth, the Luna shares a somewhat similar rounded rim shape but features a slightly different profile and more low-speed stability. The Luna tends to finish with a more distinct fade, whereas the Roach provides a flatter, more neutral straight-line finish over long distances.

<>

Discraft Big Z Roach Product Information

Flight Numbers: Speed 2 | Glide 4 | Turn 0 | Fade 1

Disc Type: Stable/Neutral Putt & Approach Disc

Plastic Blends: Big Z Premium Opaque Blend

<>

Frequently Asked Questions About the Big Z Roach

Is the Big Z Roach better for putting or throwing?

While you can absolutely use it for putting inside the circle, the Big Z premium plastic makes the Roach shine as a throwing putter off the tee or for approach shots. Its high durability allows you to throw full-power shots into obstacles without worrying about ruining the disc's flight profile.

Does the beadless design change how it handles power?

A beadless design primarily affects hand feel and release cleanlines. The Roach handles power exceptionally well because of its neutral architecture; it will not turn over into a roller when thrown cleanly, but it will mirror whatever release angle you commit to.

How does Big Z plastic hold up in cold weather?

Big Z plastic retains a slightly better grip and flexibility in colder elements compared to standard, rigid Z-Line plastic.
